The sound design was created before the motion graphics for the above SBM logo animation.
I often work this way, allowing the audio to shape the visuals of a piece.
I wanted to imply that SBM takes chaos, disorder or commotion and brings order, peace and rest.
This was done through abruptly revealing the logo after a series of disjointed noise and distortion effects.
I used Video Copilot's Element 3D and Rowbyte's Plexus to create some of the components of this motion design.
The sound design around the logo reveal of the above animation was created using real thunder sound effects.
These sounds were then distorted using additive synthesis (Harmor) and reverb.
This animation was a precursor to the below and final SBM logo animation that is used
as an identifier on corporate videos.
